Patlaban pasauli apceļo retrospektīvā izstāde par britu mūziķi Deividu Boviju "David Bowie Is", kura sastāv no mākslas darbiem un dažādiem priekšmetiem, no kuriem katrs stāsta kaut ko par slavenā mūziķa karjeru. Tostarp izstādītas arī vairākas grāmatas, kas ietekmējušas Bobija daiļradi. Izstādes kurators Džefrijs Māršs līdz ar izstādes nonākšanu Kanādā atklājis popzvaigznes iemīļotākās grāmatas, raksta "The Telegraph".

Māršs stāsta, ka Bovijs ir aizrautīgs lasītājs, kurš pazīstams ar spēju "lasīt grāmatu dienā". Viņš norāda, ka mūziķa iecienītāko grāmatu saraksts atklāj britu popzvaigznes intelektuālos apvāršņus, kas ir ļoti plaši un daudzslāņaini. Ja kāds līdz šim ir šaubījies par zvaigznes daiļrades nopietnību un dziļumu, tad to noteikti pierāda viņa grāmatu izvēle, raksta britu medijs.

Grāmatu saraksts, kas sakārtots hronoloģiskā kārtībā, ietver gan plašu klasiskās daiļliteratūras klāstu, sākot no Mihaila Bulgakova un beidzot ar Džordžu Orvelu, gan mūsdienu amarikāņu rakstniekus, piemēram, Maiklu Šeibonu un Džunotu Diazu. Grāmatas aptver arī plašu tematikas klāstu - psiholoģiju, teātra mākslu, vēsturi, autobiogrāfijas, ceļojumu aprakstus, komiksus, dzeju, kā arī, protams, mūziku.
